Jairus' daughter

Jairus’ daughter was 12 years old.

Jairus was a leader in the synagogue.

Before Jesus healed Jairus’ daughter, he made everyone except her parents, and Peter, James, and John leave the room.

After Jairus’ daughter rose up, Jesus told them to give her something to eat.

In The Bible:

Mark 5:41 And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.

Brother Branham Said:

So she was already ready to go in the grave, but they wanted to wait for papa to see her before they put her away. And when He comes in, and her in that condition, and He said, "She's just taking a nap."

Well, they said, "Now, if that Fellow isn't truly crazy!"

So now what did He do? He had already said she was asleep, He had to prove His Word. He couldn't do it before that bunch, so He said, "Put them all out." And I can see Him look around to Jairus and say, "You still believe?"

"Yes, Lord."

You and the wife come here. Peter, James and John, you come with Me." They walked over there and called this word, talitha cumi, which means, "Little girl, rise up." And He proved His Word, she was only asleep. Is that right? He proved here, His Word was right. Regardless of their unbelief, He still proved His Word was right, by waking her up, because He said she was asleep. She was asleep. 64-0816

Jairus' Daughter

During the time of Jesus there was a faithful ruler in the synagogue named Jairus. He was a good man, but he was involved with the religious powers of the day. His friends were jealous of Jesus and they hated Him, but there was something inside Jairus that knew better than that.

One day, Jairus' daughter got really, really sick. The doctors tried to help her, but they couldn’t.  She was going to die. Jairus was devastated, there had to be something else that he could do. Then he remembered Jesus.

Jairus was so desperate to help his little girl that he ran to Jesus as fast as he could. He fell at Jesus' feet, and cried, "My little daughter lieth at the point of death: I pray thee, come and lay thy hands on her, that she may be healed; and she shall live."

Jairus didn't care about all of his friends who were watching him. He didn't care that he might be put out of his church, or that he might not be popular anymore. His daughter was dying and he knew that Jesus could help!

When Jesus agreed to go to his house, Jairus must have felt much better. He knew the Lord Jesus was going to pray for his sick daughter, but there was still another challenge waiting for Jairus.

On the way to his house, a man came and told Jairus that it was too late, his daughter had already died. He told Jairus not to bother Jesus any longer, there was nothing He could do about it now. Jesus heard what was going on and encouraged Jairus. He said, "Be not afraid, only believe."

When they finally got to Jarius' house, everyone was crying and sad. Jesus looked at them and asked, "Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth."

The people who didn't believe Jesus knew the little girl was dead, but Jesus said that she was only sleeping! They laughed at Jesus, and thought He didn't know what He was talking about. Soon, they would discover it was them who didn't know what they were talking about!

Jesus told everyone to leave the room, except for the father and mother of the girl, and Peter, James and John. Then Jesus took the girl by the hand and said "Talitha cumi," which means "Damsel, I say unto thee, arise."

You already know what happened next. The little dead girl got up and walked! She was alive! Wouldn't you love to have seen the look on the unbelievers' faces when the little girl walked out of the room? Jesus proved once again that He was God in human flesh. He had power over everything, including death!

If you were Jairus, would you have went to Jesus? Did you know that you can still invite Him into your house today? Remember that He promised He would never leave us nor forsake us. All you have to do is get desperate and call on Him, just like Jairus did!
