Story Winner

In the last issue of Cub Corner Magazine, we challenged you to "finish the story." We wrote the first half of the story and you finished it for us.

We got a whole bunch of great stories, but we could only pick one winner. So here it is - congratulations Sister Faith from PA! Here is your story in Cub Corner Magazine, plus we added 20 YF points to your account!

Laura and Paul were brother and sister. They had a lot to be thankful for, and they knew it, but sometimes God finds a way to remind us that He is in charge and everything that we do should be in His perfect will.

One day Laura and Paul ran into their house as fast as they could. "Mommy, Mommy!" They yelled. "You just gotta see them; they're the cutest things in the whole world!" Laura exclaimed.  "Yeah Mommy, and they are great hunting dogs when they get big. I'll take care of it, Mommy, I really will!"

Their neighbor's dog had puppies and they wanted to give the pick of the litter to Laura and Paul. The kids' Mommy had to admit that they were pretty cute. "IT'S FREE MOMMY! We don't even have to pay for it!"

Mommy told the kids that they would talk to Daddy about it when he came home. You could feel the anticipation in the air all day long, but when Daddy finally came home he didn't seem nearly as excited about the idea as Laura and Paul were.

As they sat down for supper that night, Daddy didn't exactly say "no" but it sure wasn't a "yes" either. Daddy said, first  they should...

...pray about it. Then Daddy reminded them of what Bro. Branham said, “Remember on Sunday night what Bro. Branham said, ‘Don’t make any decisions too harshly or too quickly, without first considering God about it.'” Both kids hung their heads, and then Paul said, “How will we know what He wants us to do?”  “It’s like this: you know we need a dog house before you get a dog, so if you two can find one, then we will know that He wants us to have a dog.” “Ok Dad, we're fine with that,” said Laura.  Then Dad said, “But remember to pray about it! And it has to be a cheap one.” That night both kids prayed about it. The next week on their way home from school, Laura suddenly stopped in her tracks; there in their neighbor’s yard was a dog house, for FREE! As fast as they had stopped, they ran for the house. “Mom we found a dog house for FREE, right in Miss Stevenson’s yard!”  That night they got the dog house and a male puppy. They named it Fritz, after Bro. Branham’s dog; and they never forgot that quote from Bro. Branham that their dad had told them.
